A Mother from North Miami Allegedly Beat Her Son with a Stick
Over the weekend, police in North Miami reported they had detained a woman who had beaten her kid with a wooden stick and thrown him to the ground. Around 7 p.m. on Saturday, the 2200 block of Sole Mia Way saw the incident reported.
The woman’s arrest record states that her daughter fled to a security officer after seeing the beating before the police were called. According to North Miami police, the victim informed the arriving officers that his mother, 33-year-old Carolina Barco, was angry with him for not doing his duties.
According to the report, he said that she became angry and proceeded to hit him on both arms many times with a large wooden stick. According to the allegation, Barco reportedly flung her kid to the ground after striking him in the face and torso with an open palm and squeezing his face with both hands.
He had a cut on the right side of his face and a cut on his left thumb, which also looked to be somewhat swollen, according to the police. Authorities added that he had significant injuries on his arms as well.
The boy reportedly informed authorities that he did not want to accompany his mother back inside the house. While Barco denied beating her son, according to the police, she did leave her children alone for around twenty minutes and came back to find the house in disarray.
She said that her kid had been inside playing video games and had not helped clean up after she had instructed him to. A charge of child abuse led to Barco’s detention.
She was detained at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bail as of Monday afternoon. The cops withheld the boy’s age. Who is presently looking after Barco’s two children is unknown.
