Dynamic pass rusher Laiatu Latu is anticipated to be selected early in the 2024 NFL Draft. Latu had a successful yet unique collegiate experience filled with many highs and lows.

Kerry, Latu’s single mother, raised him. She played a major role in the young pass rusher’s success, and Latu’s mother supported him during crucial times when it appeared he wouldn’t be able to go on.
Kerry was also crucial when he was given another shot, which helped him develop as the star we know today. She wasn’t alone, though, since Ikaika Malloe, Latu’s surrogate father, was also very important in his life.
Kerry is a strong single mother who worked numerous jobs to maintain Latu and his siblings after his father left when he was a small child. She raised four children on her own.
Latu’s mother is not well known, but what is known about her is that she has always been seen as a role model and a significant person who has supported him in both his personal and professional life.
Malloe coaches football for the Washington Huskies and is also Latu’s adoptive father. He supported Latu emotionally throughout his life away from football and assisted in developing his football skills.
Latu was granted a second chance to play after being forced to medically retire from the game during his collegiate years due to injuries. Thanks to Malloe’s assistance and his new position as a coach with the Bruins, he was able to continue his career at UCLA.
Latu rose to prominence as a pass rusher at UCLA and raised his draft position to the point where the NFL Draft would likely take him in the first round.
Latu’s siblings number three. Except for his younger brother Keleki, who is playing football in the same league as his older brother, not much is known about them.
It’s evident that Keleki admires his elder brother, who has played a significant role in his football career.
