Florida Missing Child Alert: “Dangerous and Armed” Mom Took Three Years Old
Shea Eminhizer, age three, is the subject of an ongoing search; she was last seen on June 24 in South Miami.
The mother of the kid, Christine Betancourt, is claimed to be with Eminhizer; a police dispatcher stated that Betancourt “should be considered armed and dangerous.”
Eminhizer was reported missing from the South Miami neighborhood in the 6500 block of Southwest 78th Terrace, according to a missing child notice sent by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Saturday. She may be driving with Betancourt in a gray 2021 Volvo XC90 bearing the Florida license plate IEX 419, according to the FDLE. The advisory advises anybody who spots the car’s very dark window tinting to notify the authorities immediately rather than approaching.
According to the FDLE, Florida’s missing child alert system was created in 2003 to give police a way to swiftly share information when a kid goes missing and is thought to be at grave risk, but there is no proof the child has been taken. If authorities suspect the kid has been taken, the notice may turn into an AMBER alert.
The state has had seven ongoing AMBER alerts since 2000 and six active missing child alerts, including Shea Eminhizer. The earliest notice dates back to 2020 and concerns a Miami infant who vanished seven days earlier.
Eminhizer’s father and nearby residents informed channels that Betancourt was the girl’s mother. According to NBC6, the father is the one with legal custody.
Eminhizer, a three-foot-tall white Hispanic girl with blonde hair and brown eyes, was described in the FDLE missing child notice. According to the description, Betancourt is a 41-year-old white female Hispanic with brown eyes and black hair, 5 feet 5 inches tall.
Police are requesting that anybody with information regarding Shea Eminhizer’s or Christine Betancourt’s whereabouts call 911, 305-663-6301, or the FDLE’s Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at 1-888-FL MISSING (1-888-356-4774).
