American Teen Disappears During German Cruise: Urgent Search Underway

An American teenager has disappeared during a cruise in Germany, according to police.

Aydin Brown, 14, was last seen at 7 a.m. on Thursday when he left the Caribbean Princess in Rostock-Warnemünde, a port town on the Baltic Sea. He is approximately 5’7”, has long dark hair, and was last seen wearing a dark jacket, dark pants, and retro shoes.

Princess Cruises released a statement on Friday saying they are actively working with German police to locate the teenager. The boy left the ship without an escort.

“We understand the distress this situation has caused and will continue to provide ongoing on-site support to the family during this challenging time,” Princess Cruises said.

Brown’s grandmother, who was traveling with him, left the ship on Thursday night and is being assisted by company employees in Warnemünde. Princess Cruises also arranged for his mother to fly to Germany as the search continues.

“We greatly appreciate the swift response and ongoing efforts of the local authorities in their search for the young man,” the statement said. “Their dedication and expertise are invaluable in this critical situation, and we are doing everything we can to assist them.”

Police are also searching for a witness who may have seen Brown around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday at the train station in Warnemünde. The witness is described as between 20 and 25 years old and has been asked to urgently contact the criminal investigation department in Rostock.

Natasha Worthington, a passenger on the cruise, said that despite the teenager’s disappearance, “The mood on the ship is still upbeat as not a lot of people are talking about it.” She added, “We would like to know what’s happened as we feel extremely sorry for the family.”
