Clint Eastwood’s Longtime Girlfriend Christina Sandera’s Cause of Death Revealed
Christina Sandera, Clint Eastwood’s longtime girlfriend, passed away at the age of 61. Five days after her death on July 18, the Monterey County Health Department confirmed she died of a heart attack. According to The New York Post, her death certificate cited cardiac arrhythmia as the immediate cause of death, with atherosclerotic coronary artery disease—a condition where plaque builds up in the coronary arteries—contributing to her passing.
Clint Eastwood, 94, announced her death with a heartfelt statement on July 18, expressing his deep sorrow and calling her a “lovely, caring woman.” Warner Bros. later stated that no additional information would be released.
Christina and Clint met while she was a hostess at Eastwood’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. They began dating in 2014 and maintained a relatively private relationship. However, Christina accompanied Clint to several public events, including the 2015 Academy Awards and the red carpets for his films Sully in 2016, The Mule in 2018, The 15:17 to Paris in 2018, and Richard Jewell in 2019.
Their appearance at The Mule premiere was particularly notable, as they were joined by Clint’s first wife, Margaret “Maggie” Johnson, and his children, marking a significant moment believed to be Clint’s final acting role.
