Victim shot during Trump rally got discharged from hospital
On Wednesday afternoon, one of the men who was shot during the rally in Butler County by former President Donald Trump was allowed to leave the hospital.
Allegheny Health Network verified in an update that David “Jake” Dutch, 57, a native of New Kensington, was released from Allegheny General Hospital. According to AHN, the other injured guy, James Copenhaver, 74, is still in critical but stable condition at the hospital.
On Saturday, July 13, at a Trump event in Butler County, a gunman opened fire, seriously injuring Dutch and Copenhaver. 50-year-old Corey Comperatore was the only fatality. It just missed Trump’s ear.
Dutch’s buddies informed KDKA-TV that he is a devoted U.S. Marine who loves his nation and frequently goes to the Lower Burrell American Legion #868 with his wife.
Anthony Grimes, an American Legion member, described him last week as a “great guy,” who is very kind and supportive. “It’s just so sad that things like this happen.”
Members of the American Legion expressed their anticipation for Dutch’s hospital release and reunion with them. Additionally, Dutch oversaw Westmoreland Detachment #1416, according to the Marine Corps League.
