Chirag Paswan’s political and showbiz life can be described as a series of transformations and accomplishments. Chirag Paswan was born on 31st October 1982, in a politically influential family. His father, Ram Vilas Paswan, was a Union Minister, and the founder of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), and his mother, Reena Sharma, originally from Amritsar, was an air hostess. However, unlike his esteemed ancestors, Chirag’s childhood was not as planned and was quite a deviation. Originally, he started his college education in Computer Engineering, but he had to withdraw in the third semester. Paswan entered Bollywood in 2011 with the movie *Miley Naa Miley Hum*. He was very briefly an actor, but it gave him a good insight into the Indian media industry. However, his true vocation was revealed in the sphere of politics, which he joined later in his life and which he influenced significantly. 

Political Career And Challenges

Lok Janshakti Party is the political party where Chirag Paswan started his political journey by succeeding his father. He entered politics by contesting the 16th Lok Sabha elections and won the Jamui constituency in Bihar in 2014. The first success that came in the form of a victory of Paswan over Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by over 85 thousand votes. He was, however, able to defend his seat in the 2019 elections, which showed that he had gained a lot of influence and popularity in the region.

While being an MP, Paswan was also involved in various activities like running his NGO, *Chirag Ka Rojgar*. The foundation is expected to help young people of Bihar find employment, which shows Paswan’s concern with local issues.

After assuming the leadership of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) in 2021, Chirag expanded his father’s political influence while carving his own political career in India.
