Who Is Kurt Perez? Early Life And Education

Kurt Isaiah Perez, born on December 1, 1997, in Cabanatuan, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, is a name that many Filipinos remember fondly from the early 2000s. Born as the third child to Arlene Marcelo and Erwin Perez, Kurt’s early life was characterized by a loving family. The early years of his life were spent studying at Angelicum College, which is one of the best schools in the Philippines.

As a result of his desire for more opportunities, Kurt relocated to Australia to further his education. He first commenced his course in accounting in Brisbane and is currently pursuing his Master’s in data science. This change in the academic focus can be attributed to his changing priorities and goals in life other than show business.

Rise To Fame

Kurt’s fame was not something that he attained when he grew up, but he was famous when he was still young. He first joined the GMA Network’s reality-based talent search for child stars, StarStruck Kids in 2004. It was a talent show for the youth and received a lot of attention in the Philippines. Out of the 14 contestants, Kurt was outstanding, and he became the Ultimate Male Survivor. His win on the show endeared him to many of the viewers and was the start of his career in the entertainment world.

Notable Acting Career

After his victory in StarStruck Kids, Kurt was able to get several acting jobs that proved his versatility in acting. He was also famous for his role as the young Aguiluz in the famous TV show *Mulawin*. The series which included Richard Gutierrez, Angel Locsin, and Dennis Trillo were received well, and this made Kurt more established as one of the young actors to look out for.

In 2006, Kurt gained critical success in the movie *La Visa Loca*. Together with other famous actors Robin Padilla and Rufa Mae Quinto, Kurt’s role in the film made him a nominee for the FAMAS Best Child Actor. This recognition paved the way for his discovery and the realization that he is capable of being a child actor in the Filipino movie industry. 

Transition to New Horizons

Although Kurt had a great beginning in his acting career, he decided to quit acting and leave the entertainment business. This change of lifestyle from the public eye and moving to Australia to concentrate on his studies is quite a transformation.

Kurt’s choice of changing the course of study towards accounting and data science shows the intention to venture into other careers and utilize the skills in other areas.
