Daniel Dixon has been named as the suspect by MPD. He is required to post a $100,000 bond and faces a single charge of aggravated assault. The 500 block of 49th Avenue was the scene of a shooting incident on Monday afternoon, and the Meridian Police Department reports that someone was wounded in the leg. Officers learned that the incident happened close to the 200 block of 46th Avenue after interviewing the victim. The person is being airlifted to Jackson for additional treatment after being taken to a nearby hospital, where their condition is stable. MPD is holding one suspect; details about the suspect will be made public once any outstanding charges have been resolved.
