“This Was A Coup”: Donald Trump Claimed Over Biden Exit
In a recent X interview with Elon Musk, Donald Trump stated that Joe Biden’s forced withdrawal from the US Presidential election was the result of a “coup”. “I had one of the best debate performances ever; I defeated Biden so badly that it forced him out of the race. “The departure of Biden was a coup,” the 78-year-old remarked. Musk reiterated the former US President’s accusation, stating, “They essentially took him behind a shed and shot him.” In the interview, Donald Trump also talked about the attempted assassination attempt that occurred last month, which the Republican nominee barely avoided. He called it a “hard hit.”
“It was a hard hit. It was very, I guess you would say, surreal, but it wasn’t surreal. You know, I was telling somebody, you have instances like this… where you feel it’s a surreal situation. And I never felt that way,” Trump said of the moment when he said the bullet hit his ear. “I knew immediately that it was a bullet. I knew immediately that it was at the ear… For those people that don’t believe in God, I think we all have to start thinking about that,” he added.
The billionaire businessman had to do the interview for a limited audience due to numerous users being unable to tune in, as the conversation was beset by significant technical difficulties even before it could begin. Trump remarked, “Congratulations on breaking every record in the book,” seemingly referring to the volume of listeners who attempted to join their conversation.
The goal of the interview was to help Trump’s flagging campaign gain momentum as his Democratic opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, has surged ahead in polls and electrified Democratic voters with a string of intense rallies. It’s been dubbed the “interview of the century” by the Trump team. “This is unscripted with no limits on subject matter, so should be highly entertaining!” With an estimated net worth of $235 billion, 53-year-old Musk shared a sneak peek of the interview on Sunday.
A month after Musk assumed control of the business, Trump was able to use his X account, @realDonaldTrump. The account was suspended by the previous proprietors of the platform when his followers attacked Congress on January 6, 2021.Since its February 2022 launch, Trump has posted on his Truth Social social media network frequently. Prior to the interview, Trump, 78, shared a campaign video on X on Monday, his first post in almost a year, in which he described himself as the target of forces seeking to “destroy” the United States.
