Corey Lewandowski back on board through Trump’s campaign

In an effort to gain ground in the presidential race, Donald Trump’s campaign is growing by adding a few key loyalists, such as Corey Lewandowski, the campaign manager from his failed 2016 run.

Lewandowski is being brought on to assist the campaign’s top leadership team. He has been an informal adviser to Trump since his first campaign, according to a person familiar with the decision who was given permission to remain anonymous. He will perform similar responsibilities to numerous other former Trump aides.

The hiring increases coincide with Trump’s decline in fundraising and some swing state polling relative to Vice President Kamala Harris. Concerned about Trump’s position in the contest, some Republicans have expressed that he has found it difficult to develop a steady offensive strategy against Harris.

According to those close to the campaign, the new hiring are an attempt to strengthen the campaign’s leadership team during the final, vital months before the election rather than to cause a shakeup.

Additionally joining will be Tim Murtaugh, the head of communications for Trump’s 2020 campaign. Additionally, Alex Pfeiffer and Alex Bruesewitz, who held high positions on the MAGA Inc. super PAC that supported Trump, will also be gone. Bruesewitz is well-known for having a sizable social media following. Early this week, POLITICO revealed that Taylor Budowich, the head of MAGA Inc., had departed the super PAC to take a top position with the Trump campaign.

Trump’s co-campaign managers, Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles, released a statement saying, “As we head into the home stretch of this election, we are continuing to add to our impressive campaign team.” “The most radical ticket in American history, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, will be prosecuted by President Trump with the assistance of Corey Lewandowski, Taylor Budowich, Alex Pfeiffer, Alex Bruesewitz, and Tim Murtaugh, who have all served in previous Trump campaigns.”

After being accused of making inappropriate sexual approaches against Trashelle Odom, the wife of a former presidential supporter, at a charity dinner in Las Vegas in 2021, Lewandowski was demoted from his senior position in a pro-Trump super PAC.
