Parenthood announcement: Miles Heizer, the costar, is the name of Mae Whitman’s first child, whom she named after him. In a lighthearted Instagram post on Wednesday, Whitman said, “Not to be a Bieber about it but I too just gave birth to our son, Miles.” Whitman went on, “He is our best friend and the kindest, gentlest, smartest, funniest little beebee—pretty much just like his namesake Uncle Miles.)”

“We are incredibly appreciative that he picked us to be his parents,” Whitman added in her post. Along with Huntington Hospital in Pasadena, California, “for guiding our little family through all the unexpected twists and turns safely and with love and grace,” she also expressed gratitude to the obstetrics and midwifery group Moxie Birth as well as “everyone in our circle who has shown us such radical generosity and support.” “You are loved! We’re overjoyed!” Whitman came to an end.

For six seasons, the 36-year-old actress played Amber Holt in the NBC primetime family drama. Whitman initially rose to prominence and attention for her recurring role as Ann Veal, the Christian girlfriend of George Michael (Michael Cera) on Arrested Development. However, Parenthood was the show that really made her famous. Heizer portrayed her on-screen brother Drew; the two spent much of their on-screen time together and remained close after the conclusion of the series in 2015.

In an Instagram photo from May, she originally revealed her pregnancy alongside Heizer and Lauren Graham, who plays their on-screen mother. “Not to make a parenthood episode out of it or anything but!!!” she added in her note. This year’s Mother’s Day is looking a little different… I’m excited to meet you, huge baby kicking my insides to filth!”
