9-Year-Old Dies in Florida After Father’s Girlfriend Sics Dog on Her

Florida: Authorities have arrested 34-year-old Tyshael Elise Martin in connection with the death of her 9-year-old stepdaughter, Jamaria Sessions.

Disturbing Video Evidence Revealed

Martin faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse following a disturbing series of events captured on video. According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Martin’s actions led to the death of Jamaria, who was found with extensive injuries.

On the morning of June 17, deputies were called to a home on Harbar Oaks Drive in Montverde. Paramedics discovered Jamaria, who was naked and had numerous injuries, including abrasions, burns, punctures, and bruises in various stages of healing. Martin claimed that the family was preparing for a flight to California and that she had found Jamaria unresponsive and cold.

Brutal Attack Captured on Video

Investigators reviewed nearly 3,000 videos from inside and outside the home, focusing on six crucial clips recorded just before midnight on June 15. The footage allegedly shows Jamaria being viciously attacked by the family’s 103-pound Rottweiler. Martin is seen holding the dog’s leash and encouraging it to bite Jamaria, who is lying on the floor out of view.

Subsequent videos reveal Jamaria, disheveled and injured, with visible signs of abuse. Her hair, once neatly styled, is now messy, and it appears that the dog had bitten her head. Martin is seen forcing Jamaria to stand with her arms raised and then kicking her when she falters. The child, visibly disoriented, falls to the ground, and Martin continues to kick her in the hip and stomach.

History of Abuse and Deadly Outcome

Deputies also learned that Martin used harsh physical exercises as punishment, including wall sits, running in place, and treadmill use. Additionally, Martin allegedly used physical violence such as kicking, punching, and pinching as further punishment.

An autopsy revealed that Jamaria died from blunt force injuries to her head, torso, and extremities, as well as thermal injury to her right foot. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide. On Wednesday, deputies arrested Martin, who is currently being held without bond at the Lake County Jail. She made her first court appearance on Thursday.

The case has shocked the community and highlights the severe and tragic consequences of child abuse. The investigation continues as authorities seek justice for Jamaria.
