California Man Goes Missing, Family Appeals For Search
Authorities and family members are intensifying efforts to locate Raul Varela Jr., a 60-year-old man from Southern California who has been missing since August 29. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department (LASD) reported Varela missing after he was last seen in Canoga Park. The disappearance has left his loved ones deeply concerned, especially given his dependence on medication.
Last Known Sighting and Description
Varela was last seen around 10 a.m. on the 24000 block of Woolsey Canyon Road in Canoga Park. Described as a Hispanic man standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds, Varela has distinguishing features including black hair, brown eyes, a goatee, a tribal tattoo on his right arm, and a koi fish tattoo on his left leg. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black baseball hat, a white t-shirt, and blue jeans. Varela was driving a gray 2019 Jeep Compass SUV with California license plate 9FPG355. Authorities have urged anyone who may have seen Varela or his vehicle to come forward with any information that could assist in locating him.
Family’s Plea for Help
Varela’s family is growing increasingly worried as days pass without any contact. His dependency on medication adds to the urgency of the search, as his well-being could be compromised without it. The family is pleading with the public for help, hoping that someone might have seen something that could lead to Varela’s safe return.
Anyone with information on Varela’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the LASD’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. The community’s involvement is crucial in ensuring that Varela is found and brought back to his family safely.
