According to the Bradenton Police Department, the accident occurred just after 6:30 a.m. near 26th Street East. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was not walking in a designated crosswalk when he was struck by the bus.

Emergency Response and Road Closure

Following the accident, police swiftly shut down the westbound lanes of Manatee Avenue to manage the scene and ensure the safety of first responders. The closure lasted from approximately 6:45 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. as authorities cleared the area and conducted an initial investigation. The injured pedestrian was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. While police have not provided details on his condition, they confirmed that the man was alive when he was transported.
