FLORIDA: In June, as the tow truck driver’s automobile was being repossessed, a man from northwest Miami-Dade fired several bullets at him, according to authorities. Two months later, authorities located him in a suburb of Indianapolis.

Now, he is back in South Florida to answer to accusations. The first incident happened on July 31 at about 9:25 p.m., according to an arrest record. Miami-Dade police officers were called to the 400 block of Northeast 160th Terrace in the Intracoastal District. According to investigators, the victim was trying to reclaim Rony Guerrier’s 2018 silver Lexus NX300 while driving a tow truck for Heat Recovery & Towing.

Authorities said the driver located the Lexus According to the authorities, the driver used license plate recognition equipment to find the Lexus and then backed his tow truck up to start hooking up the vehicle. He was unaware that Guerrier, 34, was seated inside the vehicle until he began the process of taking ownership of it.

Two Gun shot

The victim presented himself as a repossession agent and informed Guerrier that the car was being repossessed at the lienholder’s request shortly after Guerrier got out of the Lexus. According to investigators, once the victim reported to police that Guerrier had shot him, he fled to his truck and the situation got worse.

According to the police, the victim drove off, lowering the Lexus back to the ground out of fear that Guerrier might try to shoot again. Nevertheless, authorities said Guerrier followed the victim in the Lexus as he drove away from the scene in his tow truck.

Guerrier fired another shot, this time straight at the tow truck, while he followed the victim in his vehicle. The tow truck, according to the authorities, had CCTV footage installed, which they said recorded the whole altercation, including the gunshots.

Guerrier and the Lexus had left the area by the time Miami-Dade police arrived, the complaint said. According to the police, the victim was unharmed and his truck was not struck by any bullets during the event.

Felony vehicle

According to the article, Guerrier’s car was promptly registered as a “felony vehicle” in the national law enforcement database, prompting an investigation into his identification and whereabouts.

Investigators confirmed that the gun, a 9 mm Glock Model 17, had been reported to the police and was being held as evidence for forensic comparison with a 9 mm shell casing found at the crime site. According to jail records, Guerrier is accused with one count each of shooting or tossing a lethal missile, second-degree attempted murder, and tampering with tangible evidence.

Guerrier was formally detained on Wednesday after being extradited to Miami-Dade County to face prosecution. His bond has not yet been set, and as of Thursday, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
