SUFFOLK COUNTY, New York: Upon the discovery of human remains inside a suitcase on Tuesday in Long Island, police have begun an investigation. As per the Suffolk County Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call on Tuesday morning in Huntington Station, New York, regarding “suspicious activity” in a wooded area close to an apartment building. Police stated in a press statement that they discovered a deceased body in a suitcase close to the building when they arrived.

An Autopsy Would Be Performed

Police announced on Thursday that Seikeya Jones, 31, had been recognized as the victim. Jones was reported missing on August 16 and, according to the police, was homeless. Police stated that an autopsy would be performed by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office, even though the cause of her death is still unknown.

Anyone with knowledge about the event is asked to get in touch with the police. At around three in the morning on Sunday, a tenant of the apartment building reported to WABC, a New York ABC station, that she had heard a lady screaming. Another local claimed to have witnessed police responding to the scene. The person claimed, “The police arrived, lifted it, and discovered it was a body.” “There was a rotten odor. Strong.”

She Was a Charming Lady

Something I’ve already smelled.” Friend Mary Waldron, who characterized Jones as a nice person who had “changed as well as kind of landed up on the streets,” was among the loved ones who went to the location to pay their respects. Mary Waldron told the reporters, “We called her Keya,” according to NC News York. “She was a very charming young lady. She never stopped grinning. She was content no matter what.”
