Nikki Garcia Files for Divorce from Artem Chigvintsev Following His Arrest
Nikki Bella is giving up on her marriage because she recently filed for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev, just a few weeks after he was taken into custody for alleged domestic abuse. Online records state that the former WWE star made a beeline for the courtroom on Wednesday to file for divorce after two years of marriage.
About two weeks have passed since Artem’s arrest on August 29 for felony corporal injury to spouse or cohabitant when he allegedly attacked Nikki, causing a visible injury that led to his arrest. Nikki appears to have found a divorce attorney in Evan Craig Itzkowitz, as she began seeking for one the day after Artem’s arrest. It’s unknown whether the divorcing couple has a prenuptial agreement in place for their 4-year-old son, Matteo. It’s not a major surprise that Nikki filed for divorce considering she previously gave up wearing her wedding band.
According to what we’ve been informed, Artem is staying at a friend’s house while Nikki and Matteo return to the family’s Napa Valley property. After calling 911 to seek medical attention for the purported victim, Artem was exposed. He requested and canceled the visit, according to radio dispatch recordings, yet the cops nevertheless showed up at the house. Authorities claim to have seen visible injuries on the victim’s body and to have detained the “Dancing With The Stars” pro for the offense; after being jailed and photographed for a mug shot, he was freed on bond.
Nikki and Artem first crossed paths on “DWTS” in 2017, but they didn’t begin dating until after Nikki and John Cena’s final breakup in 2018. January 2020 saw their engagement, and August 2022 saw them marry the knot in Paris. Now that it’s all done, there are indications that this could be a contentious divorce.
