Search warrant names person of interest in case of missing Missouri City woman
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The family of 61-year-old Karen Miles believes skeletal remains found in Missouri City belong to their loved one. New court documents highlight Davante Clark, 28, as the only person of interest in the case, though Miles’ sister, Patricia Evans, said the family doesn’t know him.
Clark was arrested after Pearland police stopped him driving a stolen car from Arkansas, which turned out to be Miles’ vehicle. He claimed he had rented the car. Investigators are now linking Clark to two stolen vehicle cases involving missing persons. He also has a history of evading arrest and driving without permission.
On Tuesday, Missouri City police discovered the remains during a search based on a tip, in a wooded area near the Fort Bend County Toll Road. Though the remains haven’t been officially identified, Miles’ family believes they belong to her. Evans said, “It is a 99% indication that it is my sister.”
The family is seeking justice and will hold a prayer vigil for Miles on Saturday at Emmanuel United Methodist Church.
