Darrell Scott Brooks, A Sex Offender Assaults A College Student After He Gets A Lift From Her

South Carolina: A recently released convicted sex offender attempted to sexually abuse a college student in South Carolina, but was stopped by a stranger. Numerous allegations, including kidnapping, grand larceny, and assault with the purpose to perform criminal sexual behavior, are brought against Darrell Scott Brooks.

According to deputies, Brooks approached the Clemson University student for a lift late on Tuesday night at an off-campus apartment building, explaining that he was employed there and that his car had broken down. Brooks reportedly pushed her to pull into a church parking lot as she was driving the man toward university, where he assaulted her with a folding razor blade knife and pinned her down. While passing by, a kind person heard a woman calling for assistance.

With the aid of the decent Samarian, the woman managed to get away. After then, Brooks is said to have stolen the woman’s car and driven off. Brooks fled from Oconee County Sheriff’s Office deputies as they attempted to execute a traffic stop, and they later witnessed the crash in the Seneca area.
