The Day Care Provider Accused Of Burning A Foster Child In A Hot Bath Was Granted License 3 Months Ago

KANSAS: A foster child is accused of being burned in a hot bath by a home day care worker and of being struck with such force that he sustained bruises. The boy received second-degree burns the previous week, according to officials, and Ija Monae Hall, 29, is accused of abusing children. Monday, The Wichita Eagle reported, she was taken into custody at the Child Advocacy Center. On September 5, officials said, the incident took place at Hall’s home daycare, His Loving Hands Home Childcare. An Emergency Order of Suspension issued by the Kansas Department of Health & Environment revealed information about the case.

The Two Children Were Placed Under Police Protective Care

According to the document, the boy was brought that day to the burn center of a hospital with superficial second-degree burns on his feet, genitalia, buttocks, and thighs, and profound second-degree burns on his lower extremities. Hall is accused of giving law enforcement and medical personnel at the hospital “inconsistent sentences as to the reason of the injuries.” The two children belonging to Hall were transferred to a children’s home and placed under police protective care the next day. The workers there observed that the kids needed baths. According to the paper, one child had bruises on his legs and chest and had lost teeth.

The Suspension Of License Was Given Right Away

The report stated that the second youngster had a minor bruise on his heel, red markings on his knee, shoulder, neck, and back, and a small cut on his face. The paper stated that Hall acknowledged forcing one of them to sit in a hot bathtub, which resulted in burns, and to slapping him on the back, which caused bruises, during a subsequent interview with police a few days later. Hall’s license to run a family child care home was granted in June, but the Kansas Department of Children & Families (DCF) asked for an emergency order to revoke it. According to the paperwork, the suspension of the license was given right away because of how serious the matter was.
