SOUTH FLORIDA: After claiming that someone repeatedly shot up her Dania Beach condo, a woman from South Florida is living in constant fear. On September 6, Yanisa Martinez was at home with her brother when gunfire came through her kitchen window. She was in her sleeping quarters.

The brother of Martinez was in the living room. She had no idea if he was alright. Martinez stated, “I was screaming on the phone to 911, saying my brother was hit, but I wasn’t sure. I just kept thinking, ‘My brother is hit.'”

Wants to relocate

Martinez claims there were roughly twelve gunshots in her residence. The shots passed through the wall and just missed her brother, who was seated on the couch. Her daughter’s room is located on the other side of the wall. That was when she wasn’t home. Martinez added, “She usually sleeps on the couch, plays in her room, or we’re in my room and we’re sitting at the table.”

“It would have been different, way different, if my daughter had been here.” Martinez remarked, “You can’t go around thinking you have the right to decide who lives and who doesn’t.” “Everything I had was shattered, there was glass all over, and I could see bullet holes through them.”

She desires to relocate, but she also wants the guilty person or individuals apprehended. “Justice may not always be served, but God has other plans, and karma will eventually catch up with you,” Martinez stated. Martinez claims that since the shooting, BSO has visited frequently. Although the BSO has acknowledged that they are looking into a shooting, we are still awaiting further information.
