Dozens injured and 4 killed during mass shooting in US’s Alabama state

According to authorities, a mass shooting in Birmingham, Alabama, has left at least four people dead and eighteen injured.  Late on Saturday in the city’s Five Points South neighborhood, “multiple shooters fired multiple shots on a group of people,” according to Birmingham Police officer Truman Fitzgerald. Two males and a woman were discovered dead at the scene by police, while a third man passed away in a hospital from gunshot wounds, according to Birmingham Police.

The perpetrators are thought to have driven up to the site, got out, and started shooting. No suspects have been taken into custody. “The shooting was not random and stemmed from an isolated incident where multiple victims were caught in the crossfire,” Mr. Fitzgerald continued. On Saturday night, a mass shooting occurred in Alabama, US, leaving at least four people dead and numerous others injured.

Saturday night at about eleven p.m. (local time), a gunshot occurred in Birmingham, Alabama’s Five Points South neighborhood. Situated close to the University of Alabama, the neighborhood is a well-liked gathering place with lots of eateries and bars. Police and firefighters from Birmingham are on the site, and an investigation is underway. According to CNN, authorities think that the event involved multiple shooters.

CNN stated that upon arrival, officials found two men and a woman unconscious from gunshot wounds; they were pronounced deceased at the site. At the hospital, another person passed away. In one of the city’s most well-liked entertainment districts, the victims were all out in the open on the sidewalk or the streets, according to a CNN quote from Birmingham Officer Truman Fitzgerald.
