Lester Prairie Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal Minnetrista Crash

A 24-year-old motorcyclist from Lester Prairie has been identified following a fatal crash in Minnetrista on Friday night. The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed the victim as Johnathan David Hommer.

According to a report from the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred just before 11 p.m. when Hommer, traveling west on County Road 77, collided with an SUV at the intersection of Hwy. 7. Despite wearing a helmet, Hommer sustained fatal blunt-force injuries from the impact. The medical examiner ruled the manner of death as an accident.

The crash report also indicated that Hommer had been using alcohol prior to the accident. Meanwhile, the driver and passenger of the SUV were unharmed, and alcohol was not a factor on the SUV driver’s part.

The tragic incident serves as a somber reminder of the dangers on the road, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
