Dispute Over Poor Parenting Prompts Mother To Drive Her Two Armed Sons Home Where Man Was Killed
KENTON COUNTY: After a Facebook disagreement about parenting techniques, a murder occurred that involved multiple suspects in the family & a victim who was unrelated to the argument. One of the gunmen, who was only 17 at the point of the incident, will now serve many years in prison. On Monday, a Kentucky judge sentenced 18-year-old Jackie Turner to 30 years in jail for Seth Burns’ shooting death in Kenton County. The killing was a family issue since it also involved his two sisters, Xxavion Turner, age 21, and his older brother, Amanda Turner, 38.
Insults About Children & Parenting Skills
The Cincinnati Enquirer was informed by Rob Sanders, the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Kenton County, that the posts contained “insults about children & parenting abilities, or lack thereof.” The argument concerned 21-year-old Xxavion Turner & his ex-girlfriend, the one who was purportedly dating Burns at the time. Criminal accusations obtained by Law&Crime state that on August 25, 2023, Amanda Turner carried her two daughters and two sons, who she knew were having guns, to a house where they engaged in combat with Xxavion Turner’s ex-girlfriend and other individuals. Xxavion Turner texted his ex-girlfriend a screenshot of a Google map, indicating that they were on their way and prepared for combat. Xxavion Turner is accused of firing a shot at Burns, 23, as well as into the air as they arrived.
Amanda Turner then took her sons away from the area to “avoid police surveillance,” the complaint alleged. Burns was transported to a hospital; there he eventually passed away after witnesses hurried him to a neighboring fire station. Amanda Turner admitted last week to encouraging a riot, murder, and illegal transaction with a juvenile. When she is sentenced in November, prosecutors allegedly want to give her a 12-and-a-half-year prison sentence. In July, Jackie Turner entered a guilty plea to murder.
Charges Of Rioting And Engaging In Illicit Transactions
She acknowledged taking her boys to a “girl fight” during the the previous week, according to the Enquirer. She added that she sent texts encouraging the fight. According to reports, a neighbor’s Ring camera captured part of the incident, showing the Turner family and Xxavion Turner’s current girlfriend arriving at the house in a car and making their way inside. Burns’ family confirmed Monday that he had barely anything to do related to the encounter. Michael Burns, the father of the victim, stated, “My son was literally an innocent victim in this.”
“Neither this man nor anyone else in that household was familiar with him. When his girlfriend received the call informing her they were on their way, they just so happened to get in the car together. Judge Kathleen Lape of Kenton County Circuit Court declared the entire situation to be absurd. Lape stated, “It was dumb,” according to WCPO. “This is completely dumb.” Lakera Hughes and Keavier Turner, Amanda Turner’s two daughters, entered guilty pleas to charges of rioting and engaging in illicit transactions with minors. October and November will see their sentencing, respectively. The trial for Xxavion Turner, who faces murder charges, is scheduled for November 13.
