DALLAS: Following an acknowledged inappropriate interaction, a preacher at another church in North Texas is leaving. This Monday, the Trinity Bible Church of Dallas’ elders declared that lead preacher Steven J. Lawson had been relieved of all ministry duties following his admission of an improper relation with a lady.

Steven J. Lawson Is Removed From His Positions

With the ultimate objective of seeing Steve personally repent, the elders have visited with him and will continue to stand by him in prayer. Long before Steve Lawson became lead pastor, the Lord started growing Trinity Bible Church of Dallas, and He will carry on building our church long after Steve Lawson or any man, for that matter leads us. Trinity Bible Church withheld information concerning the woman’s age, the specifics of the preacher’s relationship, the timing of the relationship’s initiation, and its potential duration.

Steven J. Lawson’s Schedules Are Cancelled

Lawson’s scheduled engagements, bible studies, and events have all been canceled, including his website where he shared his writing, teaching, and preaching ministry. He has also left his position as the ministry’s Expositor magazine’s executive editor. Lawson acknowledged the relationship in a statement posted on the main page of the website. The board of OnePassion Ministries also stated that he had resigned from all of his responsibilities and that his sin had barred him from ministry. When it comes to his family, the church, OnePassion Ministries’ reputation, and most importantly, Jesus Christ, Steve has admitted his wrongdoing and expressed contrition.

Steven J. Lawson Resigned Being An Educator

Lawson resigned from Reformation Bible College in Florida and Ligonier Ministries, where he was a teaching fellow and board member. He was described as a fellow, professor of preaching, dean of The Master’s Seminary’s doctor of ministry studies, and a teacher for the Institute for Expository Preaching in the teaching fellowship. Lawson is married, has four children, and has written more than twenty books about Christianity, preaching, and theology, according to his bio on the church website.
