Miami Gardens Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Shooting Nephew

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – A 42-year-old man, Jaquane Lawayne Ealey, is facing an attempted second-degree murder charge after allegedly shooting his nephew multiple times during an argument inside a Miami Gardens home. The incident occurred Tuesday morning at a residence located in the 2500 block of Northwest 161st Street, according to police.


Authorities reported that an argument between Ealey and his nephew escalated, leading to both men brandishing firearms. Ealey then fired his weapon, according to the police statement.

After the shooting, Ealey called the police to report the incident. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Ealey standing outside the home, with a trail of blood leading from inside the house to the front porch and side yard.

Inside the home, police discovered a firearm on a table and multiple spent bullet casings in the kitchen area, according to the arrest report.
