Joshua Ronald Willis, a 24-year-old from Miramar, has been arrested and charged with sexually battering a 12-year-old boy with autism, whom he met online. Willis was picked up by police on Sunday and faces two counts of sexual battery and one count of traveling to meet a minor after using a computer to lure the child.

According to the report, Willis drove the boy to a nearby shopping center after picking him up at a park in Pembroke Pines. In the backseat of his car, Willis allegedly removed his pants and underwear, instructing the boy to do the same, before committing the heinous act.

The incident came to light when the victim’s father began questioning his son’s whereabouts after tracking his phone to the shopping center instead of his school. Willis then dropped the boy off at school, but not before the victim left his school ID in Willis’ car.

The authorities have stated that Willis should have known the victim was a minor, given the circumstances.
