Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Two Men in Connection with May 2023 Murders

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, N.C. (WTVD) — The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for two men linked to two separate murders that occurred in May 2023. The sheriff’s office has released information regarding their involvement and is urging the public to assist in locating them.

The first suspect, Willie Eddie Bristol, 49, of Fayetteville, is wanted for accessory after the fact to murder. This charge is related to the shooting death of  Shaniqua Nechelle Colvin, which took place on May 14, 2023, in the 4600 block of Trumilla Drive. Bristol is believed to have played a significant role in the events following Colvin’s murder, although details about his specific involvement have not been disclosed. Authorities previously arrested one other individual in connection with this shooting last year.

The second suspect, Emone Anthony Tyrone McGougan, 20, also from Fayetteville, is wanted for first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon, and felony conspiracy. His charges stem from the murder of Dakota Lee Johnson, which occurred on May 18, 2023, in the 2300 block of Indian Creek Drive. McGougan is considered a key figure in this violent crime, and law enforcement is keen to bring him into custody.
