Japanese singer-songwriter Sayuri has sadly passed away at the age of 28. The heartbreaking news was shared by her husband, Amaarashi, in a post on her official X account. The statement confirmed that the talented musician passed on September 20.

“We would like to humbly inform everyone who has been supporting Sayuri that she passed away on September 20th. She was 28 years old,” the message, translated from Japanese, stated. The post also revealed that her funeral was held privately in accordance with her family’s wishes. “In accordance with the wishes of her family, the funeral was held privately with only close relatives and acquaintances present. We sincerely thank you for your kind support of Sayuri during her lifetime and pray for her eternal peace along with you.”

The family has also requested privacy during this difficult time. The statement added, “We kindly ask the media to respect the family’s deep grief and refrain from contacting them or seeking interviews with related individuals. As Sayuri was a freelancer, fan letters and correspondence have been sent to the live production company’s office. We ask that no further messages of condolence be sent at this time.”
