Japanese singer-songwriter Sayuri has sadly passed away at the age of 28. The heartbreaking news was shared by her husband, Amaarashi, in a post on her official X account. The statement confirmed that the talented musician passed on September 20.

“We would like to humbly inform everyone who has been supporting Sayuri that she passed away on September 20th. She was 28 years old,” the message, translated from Japanese, stated. The post also revealed that her funeral was held privately in accordance with her family’s wishes. “In accordance with the wishes of her family, the funeral was held privately with only close relatives and acquaintances present.
