Titusville, Florida: On September 21, 2024, 26-year-old Javone Williams was arrested for allegedly firing 10 shots at a neighbor’s residence in Titusville.
Altercation Leads to Gunfire
The Titusville Police Department responded to the scene after reports of gunfire. Witnesses helped identify Williams as the shooter, largely based on information provided by his girlfriend, who played a key role in the incident.
The confrontation began when Williams’ girlfriend engaged in a dispute with the victim. Text messages revealed that she had been outside the victim’s home, taunting and challenging her to a physical fight. According to the victim, she recognized a white Honda Accord parked near her house, which belonged to Williams’ girlfriend. This vehicle was later located at the Timber Trace Apartments in Titusville.
The Shooting and Escape
According to the victim and surveillance footage, when she and others approached the car, Williams suddenly opened fire, discharging 10 shots toward the residence. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Residential security cameras captured the shooting, confirming Williams as the shooter. After the gunfire, Williams and his girlfriend fled the scene, heading southbound on Alpine Road. The couple returned to the Timber Trace Apartments, where they sought help from the girlfriend’s sister, who drove them to Williams’ home in Palm Bay. The police were able to track down Williams after piecing together the series of events, which included statements from both the victim and witnesses.
Williams’ Criminal Record and Charges
Williams, a convicted felon with a long history of criminal activity, now faces additional serious charges. At the time of the shooting, he was on probation, with nine prior felony convictions on his record. This incident adds to his already lengthy criminal history and could lead to significant legal consequences.
Williams is currently facing charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, as well as other potential offenses related to the shooting. The charges could result in severe penalties due to his past convictions and current probationary status.
Authorities continue to investigate the case and review all available evidence, including the security footage and witness statements, to ensure justice is served. The involvement of Williams’ girlfriend, who instigated the conflict and provided Williams with the victim’s address, could also lead to further charges.
