A Butler County School Student Was Arrested After Making A Threat On Social Media
HAMILTON: A student was arrested after a Tri-State school received yet another threat. Talawanda Schools spokesperson Holli Hansel reports that the threat was created late on Monday night and was looked into all night. 18-year-old Kenneth Cartwright is charged with threatening Talawanda High School on Snapchat, as per a Hamilton police report.
This Kind Of Threat Is A Criminal Violation
An image of Cartwright with the phrase, “DO NOT SHOW UP AT SCHOOL TOMORROW I’M SHOOTING THE F***ING PLACE UP,” was shared, according to the newspaper. It was verified by Hansel that Cartwright was just a student. Hansel noted that even though the threat was thought to be unfounded, more police officers were present on campus on Tuesday just in case. She said that “this kind of threat is a very serious criminal violation.
Necessary Disciplinary Action To Be Taken
The district will take the necessary disciplinary action. This person is also facing significant criminal accusations in Butler County”. Presently incarcerated in the Butler County Jail, Cartwright is charged with one count of executing terroristic threats, a third-degree felony. The 18-year-old is now one of numerous kids in the Tri-State who have been arrested recently for threatening schools or bringing weapons onto school property.
