Arrests and Charges

Spencer Privert, 50, was taken into custody in Palm Beach County, while Anthony Jennings, 48, was apprehended in Hillsborough County. Along with a previously arrested 14-year-old boy, the two men now face multiple charges, including first-degree murder, burglary while armed, and aggravated battery with a firearm. Jennings also faces additional charges in Hillsborough County, such as grand theft of a firearm, resisting an officer, and false imprisonment. He remains in custody in Hillsborough County until those charges are resolved before being transferred to West Palm Beach to face charges related to the brothel owner’s killing. Privert and the teenage suspect were arrested earlier in September after detectives discovered they frequented the same location.

Investigation and Evidence

The investigation into the September 5 shooting revealed that Privert, Jennings, and the teen were part of the group responsible for the death of Escobar, who was found with multiple gunshot wounds at a residence on Melaleuca Lane. Investigators discovered spent shell casings at the scene, and another victim, a 23-year-old man, was found nearby suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Detectives obtained key information from neighbors and surveillance footage already positioned near the residence, as the home was known to be a brothel. Video evidence shows a Chrysler 300 arriving at the brothel with the three suspects inside. The footage captures the teen, armed with a handgun, entering the residence first, followed by the two adult suspects, one armed with a Draco-style rifle. Moments later, the three suspects are seen fleeing the scene.

According to the probable cause affidavit, neighbors reported seeing two masked men, both Black, outside the residence before the gunfire erupted. The man who owned the Toyota at the scene confirmed to detectives that he was inside the brothel during the shooting and witnessed two masked men enter with firearms. He described hearing gunshots and the suspects shouting, “LET’S GO, LET’S GO, LET’S GO” as they fled.

Confessions and Brothel Discovery

Further evidence surfaced when detectives conducted a post-Miranda interview with the 14-year-old suspect. The teen admitted his involvement in the crime, aligning with the footage showing him running from the scene after the shooting. Additional interviews and surveillance corroborated his confession, linking the suspects to the crime. In executing a search warrant, investigators declared the residence a brothel, finding three bedrooms with only beds and numerous used condoms in garbage bags. Bullet casings from a Draco-style pistol were also recovered from the scene.
