Miami: A Florida man has been arrested for allegedly stealing a tractor-trailer loaded with $100,000 worth of frozen poultry, a crime that has sparked a significant investigation.
Stolen Truck and $100K Worth of Poultry
According to an arrest report, the driver of the stolen truck, worth $60,000, and the trailer, valued at $80,000, was alerted to the theft by his sister. Together, the stolen truck, trailer, and the poultry inside represent a total loss of approximately $240,000. The incident began when license plate readers along Interstate 95 captured the stolen tractor-trailer heading north, just a mile from where it had been taken. The truck was being followed by a white Nissan NV200 van, leading investigators to focus on tracking down both vehicles.
Police Surveillance Leads to Suspect
After another license plate reader detected the stolen tractor-trailer and the Nissan van in the area of W. 33rd Avenue and W. 84th Street in Hialeah, police began surveillance. Their efforts led them to the driver of the van, identified as Bello. Investigators gathered Bello’s cellphone data, which placed him in the vicinity of the theft. Further investigation revealed that he had been in communication with a co-defendant involved in the crime.
Bello, currently on probation until November 2030 for previous offenses including burglary, assault, and illegal weapons possession, was taken into custody after he drove the Nissan van to the Florida Department of Corrections Probation and Parole Services Office. His involvement in the theft of the tractor-trailer and his prior criminal history have placed him at the center of the investigation.

Bello was booked into jail and briefly appeared before a judge on Wednesday morning, with a second appearance scheduled for the afternoon alongside his attorney.
