Charlotte “Bowie” Drozd, the 16-year-old daughter of Flaming Lips member Steven Drozd, has been reported missing. According to the Seattle Police Department, Charlotte was last seen on Saturday morning near the Space Needle in Seattle. Authorities issued a missing person alert on Sunday, which was shared on social media along with a photo of the teenager.

On Monday, Flaming Lips lead singer Wayne Coyne took to Instagram to amplify the search, sharing a photo of the missing person report. “URGENT!!! Please help if you can!!!” Coyne wrote, urging followers to assist in locating Charlotte. “Steven’s daughter (she is 16 years old) is missing!!! She was last seen at the Space Needle early on Saturday….I’ll post more info as soon as I can.”

Steven Drozd, heartbroken by the situation, responded to Coyne’s post, writing, “Thank you Wayne for posting. We don’t know what to do.”

The Flaming Lips are currently on tour, opening for Weezer on their Voyage to the Blue Planet tour. The band performed in Seattle on Friday, just one day before Charlotte disappeared.

Steven Drozd had previously shared loving messages about his daughter on social media. In a February 2021 Instagram post, celebrating Charlotte’s 13th birthday, he posted a photo of her and wrote, “My precious wild Lottie bird is 13 today!!! Love you, Charlotte Michelle ❤️❤️❤️❤️.”

Efforts to locate Charlotte are ongoing, and the Seattle Police Department is encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
