The Gateway Pundit, a far-right news website put a series of allegations on Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss of wrongdoing in 2020 elections. The two women are wrongly accused of the wrongdoing and the lawsuit defaming them have been settled.

Freeman and Moss are Geogria election workers. A settlement notice was filed in the circuit court in Missouri in which they had sued the site for defamation. Terms of settlement were not yet disclosed in the filing.

The legal team for Moss and Freeman said, “The dispute between the parties has been resolved to the mutual satisfaction of the parties through a fair and reasonable settlement.” Attorneys of Gateway Pundit did not immediately return a request for comment.

Jim Hoft, the founder and owner of Gateway Pundit, said he would release a statement in the coming days.

“The parties respectfully request that this court vacate the trial date set in this matter and stay this matter until March 2025, at which the point the parties will dismiss this mater pending satisfaction of the terms of the Parties’ settlement agreement.”- the notice says.

The case was first filed in St. Louis Circuit Court in December 2021. Both the cases ended up in huge judgements against the defendants.

Ruby Freeman is the mother of Shaye Moss. Moss had served as a poll worker in Fulton County for more than a decade. In 2020, she urged her mother to join her. Their lives changed drastically on Dec.10, 2020, when Rudy Giuliani, then president Donald Trump’s top campaign lawyer, publicly claimed that the mother-daughter pair had rigged the outcome in their state. Giuliani and his allies claimed the two poll workers could be seen cheating on behalf of Biden on surveillance video at a massive vote counting facility inside Atlanta’s state farm Arena.

A jury in Washington, D.C., awarded both the women $148 in a defamation suit they filed against former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani for telling the same lies about them that they accused the Gateway Pundit of spreading.

The two women faced ferocious harassment which included death threats that was a result from false allegations that they had committed voter fraud on behalf of Joe Biden during the counting of votes on election night in 2020. They had to run away from their homes and hide somewhere as many people came unannounced at Freeman’s home. Moss’s son recieived death threats. Freeman testified the previous year that she had no where to live and believed to stay in the car rather than staying at her house. Moss did not speak much publicly but testified to the committee investigating the January 6 attack in 2022.
