Tampa, Fla. – Hillsborough County Public Schools to Remain Closed on Tuesday, Oct. 14, Due to Hurricane Milton’s Aftermath

10

Hillsborough County Public Schools has announced that all schools will remain closed on Tuesday, October 14, as the region continues its recovery from the severe damage caused by Hurricane Milton. The decision was made after considering several factors affecting school operations.

Power outages remain a significant issue, with approximately 100 schools still without electricity. Additionally, over a dozen schools are dealing with standing water, and disruptions in food deliveries have caused delays in providing breakfast and lunch services.

The district emphasized that it is monitoring the situation closely and will make reopening decisions on a day-to-day basis, with the goal of resuming classes as soon as it is safe and feasible.

For more updates on the reopening schedule, parents and students are encouraged to visit the official Hillsborough County Public Schools website at hillsboroughschools.org or follow the district’s social media accounts @HillsboroughSch for the latest information.
