The incident took place around 1:30 a.m. near the 4300 block of North State Road 7, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO). Upon arriving at the scene, officials found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, but despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
Suspect Surrenders to Police
Just one day after the shooting, the suspect responsible for the fatal attack turned himself in to the authorities. Djay Ramawad, a 32-year-old resident of Pembroke Pines, surrendered to the police on Sunday and now faces charges of first-degree murder and aggravated assault with a firearm.
The victim, Kevin Hasnali, a 28-year-old from Sunrise, was found shot near a shopping plaza in the area where the incident took place. Following the shooting, authorities cordoned off part of the shopping plaza’s parking lot with yellow police tape. Numerous deputies responded to the scene, and investigators placed over a half-dozen evidence markers on the ground as they worked to piece together what had happened.
