Liam Payne Death: Ex-Partner Maya Henry’s Allegations Against One Direction’s Former Star

Maya Henry, the former partner of Liam Payne, has expressed shock following the untimely death of the ex-One Direction star at 31. Payne allegedly fell from the balcony of his hotel suite in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The incident occurred just days after Henry had filed a lawsuit against Payne, accusing him of psychological abuse and harassment.  Payne was in Argentina to support former bandmate Niall Horan during his concert. He fell from the third floor of the Hotel CasaSur in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. The incident came just days after a cease-and-desist order was sent to Payne by Henry’s legal team, demanding he stop contacting her and her family after their separation.

Legal Disputes and Allegations of Abuse

Just two days before Payne’s tragic death, legal disputes between him and Henry had escalated. Henry’s lawyers had sent Payne a cease-and-desist letter, accusing him of continuing to contact her despite their breakup, which was causing her distress. In her lawsuit, Henry accused Payne of various forms of abusive behavior, claims she made public through a viral TikTok video.

In the video, Henry detailed how Payne had allegedly harassed her since their breakup, claiming he contacted her through multiple phone numbers and iCloud accounts. “Ever since we broke up, he messages me, blows up my phone, always from different phone numbers,” Henry stated. She further accused Payne of exploiting his One Direction fanbase to cover up inappropriate actions, saying, “He says that he preys on One Direction fans because they will always be loyal to him and they won’t tell on him.”

A Tumultuous Relationship and Personal Struggles

Liam Payne and Maya Henry’s relationship, which spanned three years with several breaks, officially ended in May 2022. After their separation, Henry, the daughter of high-profile attorney Thomas J. Henry, accused Payne not only of bullying her but also of harassing her entire family. Her legal team, led by Marco Crawford and Daniel Cerna, confirmed the cease-and-desist letter was issued after additional troubling information surfaced. Payne, who rose to international fame as a One Direction member from 2010 to 2015, had recently experienced a series of personal struggles. He had quit his management team and shelved plans for a second solo album. Payne had also been open about his struggles with substance abuse, admitting in 2021 that he had battled a dangerous phase of “pills and booze” that left him in a difficult place, both mentally and physically.
