A 14-year-old teenager from New Sweden has been missing since late September. The young individual disappeared over a month ago, and authorities, as well as the community, have been searching for any clues regarding their whereabouts.
On September 23, Stefanie Damron was last seen walking into the woods along West Road, according to a statement released Tuesday afternoon by Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss. Stefanie, at the time of her disappearance, was wearing a blue long-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and Harley Davidson hiking boots.
According to Shannon Moss, Damron was 13 years old when her parents reported her missing on September 24. Since then, she has turned 14, marking a significant milestone during the time she has remained missing.
She is described as standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has green eyes and shoulder-length brown hair, which are key features to help identify her.
Maine State Police’s Major Crimes and Computer Crimes units, along with the Boston Field Office of the FBI, are actively investigating the case, according to Shannon Moss. These agencies are working together to gather evidence and seek leads related to the situation.
Investigators, including personnel from the Maine Warden Service, have conducted extensive searches in the area where Stefanie Damron was last seen, utilizing K9 units to assist in their efforts. Additionally, they have carried out interviews across the state, as well as nationally and in Canada, in hopes of finding any leads. Despite these thorough efforts, they have not yet been able to locate Stefanie, as reported by Shannon Moss.
State police are urging anyone who may have information regarding the teenager’s whereabouts to reach out and contact the Houlton Barracks at 207-532-5400. They are seeking assistance from the public to help locate her.
