The second man charged with killing a Rochester Hills man while impersonating a DTE employee, Joshua Zuazo, made his court appearance on Friday. Bond was refused to Zuazo. Two days after another suspect, Carlos Jose Hernandez, was captured and jailed in Louisiana, he was placed under arrest on October 14. Zuazo and Hernandez, according to police, pretended to be DTE employees who needed to check for a gas leak in order to enter Hussein Murray’s 72-year-old home.

The Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office claims that Murray was discovered dead in the basement after being confined with duct tape. “We do show that he has an extensive criminal history that dates back two and a half decades, which includes a lengthy history of violence,” said Oakland County pretrial services representative Darla Finley.

Zuazo faces at least three charges, including two counts of wrongful imprisonment and criminal homicide. His attorney contended that the father of three ought to be given a cash bond because he isn’t currently on parole. “The primary concern as it relates to bond is the safety of the community,” Finley stated. n Friday, Zuazo entered a not guilty plea on all counts. Finley said Zuazo had no known connection to Murray.
