Incident Details and Charges

On Friday, Oct. 25, at around 1:45 p.m., Sacramento Police responded to an emergency on Mack Road, where they found the young child injured inside a vehicle. Walker was arrested and booked on multiple felony charges, including criminal storage of a firearm, having a concealed firearm in a vehicle, and endangering the life of a child. Authorities set her bail at $75,000. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office records, she was released on bail the following day, Oct. 26. Local media reported that the incident took place in a parking lot while Walker was inside a nearby business. Witnesses recalled hearing the child’s cries and rushed to assist. Despite the serious nature of his injuries, the boy is expected to survive following treatment at a local hospital.

Witnesses Offer Immediate Aid

As Walker’s son lay injured, witnesses inside nearby businesses rushed to help. Shynice Cordoba, 19, who was in a nail salon nearby, reported hearing a noise followed by screams. She immediately rushed outside to find the child on the ground and bleeding. Cordoba acted quickly to assist the child, applying pressure to his wound using tissue while comforting him. Recounting the moment, Cordoba said, “He was really scared. He kept saying he shot himself, so I was like, ‘It’s okay, you’re not in trouble.’” While waiting for emergency responders, Cordoba worked to calm the boy by talking about topics familiar to him, like Paw Patrol, a children’s TV show and reassured him to stay still until help arrived.

Police Investigation Underway

Sacramento Police officers arrived soon after, providing additional medical aid at the scene before transporting the boy to the hospital. The police spokesperson confirmed that a first responder applied pressure to the boy’s wound and monitored him closely to prevent further injury.
