Police have apprehended a suspect in connection to a shooting that took place on the afternoon of November 4 outside Friendship Wine and Liquors in Bel Air.

Shooting Incident Outside Friendship Wine and Liquors

The incident occurred at approximately 4:08 p.m. in the 3500 block of Woodsdale Road, next to a local Wawa. When officers arrived, they found 27-year-old Eric Chi Fonong Igwacho with a gunshot wound to his lower body. According to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office, Igwacho was promptly transported by air to a local trauma center. Thankfully, his injuries were classified as non-life-threatening, allowing him to receive treatment and be stabilized. Authorities noted that Igwacho and the suspect, identified as 41-year-old Justin Matthew Schlotterbeck of Aberdeen, were known to each other.

Arrest and Charges

After initial investigations, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Schlotterbeck, charging him with attempted first-degree murder along with other related charges. Schlotterbeck was located at his residence, where he was found seated in his vehicle. Authorities arrested him without incident, marking a swift end to the manhunt. During a search of his vehicle, officers recovered a disassembled handgun, which was seized as evidence in the ongoing investigation. The recovery of the weapon is expected to provide crucial information to detectives as they continue to gather evidence and reconstruct the events that led to the shooting.
