The birthplace of Daniel K. Hoh is Potomac, Maryland. He continued his study by earning a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. After that, he studied at Vanderbilt University, where he graduated with an MD. From 2009 until his passing, Hoh was employed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles as an emergency physician and clinical instructor of emergency medicine.

He participated in programs in nations including Sierra Leone, Peru, and Cambodia that focused on community development and healthcare delivery systems, demonstrating that his medical competence extended beyond practice. Hoh made the switch to television writing and gained notoriety mostly for his work as a producer and writer on Station 19, a spinoff of the hit show Grey’s Anatomy. He joined the program in 2018 and worked as an executive narrative editor until 2022, adding his writing and medical expertise to the program.

In addition, he has written for the television series Hollywood Medical Minute and the short film Sierra Leone: Darkness to Light. Additionally, he wrote 12 episodes of the television series Pure Genius without receiving credit. Deborah King, a lawyer who eventually moved into corporate healthcare, was Daniel K. Hoh’s wife. The pair were married in 2013 after meeting in 2010. They had a single kid together. At the age of 45, Hoh died on October 11, 2024. Colleagues and viewers alike lamented his passing, considering his contributions to television narrative and medicine.
