Donald Trump taps Elon Musk to head US ‘govt efficiency’ department – ‘Shockwaves’ in the offing?
Alongside American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, US President-elect Donald Trump announced that Elon Musk, the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, will oversee the Department of federal Efficiency (DOGE), which is not a federal entity despite its name. In order to guarantee complete transparency, Musk further declared that all Department of Government Efficiency actions would be made public online.
“For maximum transparency, all Department of Government Efficiency actions will be posted online,” Musk stated in a post on X. Please let us know if the general public believes that we are omitting something crucial or unnecessary. Additionally, we’ll have a ranking for the most ridiculously foolish uses of your taxes. This will be incredibly entertaining as well as tragic.
“Together, these two wonderful Americans will pave the way for my Administration to dismantle Government Bureaucracy, slash excess regulations, cut wasteful expenditures, and restructure Federal Agencies – Essential to the ‘Save America’ Movement,” Trump stated in a statement. Beginning on January 20 of next year, Ramaswamy will be the first Indian American appointed by Trump to his government. Trump’s announcement said, “This will send shockwaves through the system, and anyone involved in government waste, which is a lot of people!” Musk said.
“The Manhattan Project of the current time” is what the US president-elect claimed this would become. The goals of DOGE have long been the stuff of Republican politicians’ dreams. He added that in order to bring about this kind of significant change, the Department of Government Efficiency will offer outside counsel and direction, collaborate with the White House and Office of Management and Budget to promote extensive structural reform, and establish a previously unheard-of entrepreneurial approach to government.
“I’m excited for Elon and Vivek to improve the lives of all Americans while also implementing improvements to the government bureaucracy that prioritize efficiency. Crucially, we will eradicate the enormous fraud and waste that permeates our USD 6.5 trillion in yearly government expenditures,” the president-elect declared.
