“While the outcome of this incident was not what we had all hoped for, I wanted to take a minute to thank those who stepped forward to help search for Mrs. Miele. To the officers and staff of the Marietta Police Department, Marietta Fire Department and the numerous other public safety agencies who assisted with the search, the hundreds of hours you put forward over the last three days speak to your level of professionalism. I consider all of you heroes,” Beam said.
“I also want to thank the Marietta community members who came together for Mrs. Miele. Whether you shared information about her disappearance or actually spent time looking for her, you are what makes Marietta so special. You love the Marietta community, and it shows. The men and women of the Marietta Police Department are proud of you and embrace the partnership we share. We could never carry out our duties to the high level that we do without the community’s support and partnership. Please keep Mrs. Miele’s family and friends in your prayers during this difficult time.”
