Maryland Woman Dies After Tragic Golf Cart Accident in Annapolis
BALTIMORE – A Maryland community is grieving the loss of 32-year-old Mary Beth Blasetti, a wife and mother of a 2-month-old baby girl, who died two days after being ejected from a golf cart in Annapolis. The accident happened on Saturday, November 9, when Blasetti was a passenger in the cart driven by another woman. While traveling in the 600 block of Maid Marion Hill, near a private golf course, the golf cart reportedly hit a dip in the road, throwing Blasetti from the vehicle.
Blasetti was airlifted to a trauma center but, tragically, succumbed to her injuries on Monday. Anne Arundel County Police Department spokesperson Justin Mulcahy confirmed that the incident appears accidental but emphasized that an investigation is ongoing in collaboration with the State’s Attorney’s Office.
“This is an extremely tragic, unfortunate situation,” Mulcahy stated, offering condolences to Blasetti’s loved ones.
Friends shared that Blasetti and her husband had recently purchased their first home in Annapolis and welcomed their daughter just two months ago. An alumna of the University of West Virginia and member of Alpha Phi Sorority, Blasetti’s sorority sisters posted tributes and floral arrangements on social media to honor her memory.
A fundraiser launched by family and friends described her as a “devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, and friend… Her absence will be deeply felt by all who knew her.” The Annapolis community continues to rally in support of her family during this heartbreaking time.
