SAN ANTONIO – A shooting at a home in San Antonio’s Stone Oak neighborhood has left one man dead and his daughter critically injured, according to San Antonio Police. The incident occurred shortly before 9:45 a.m. on Tuesday in the 900 block of Cheyenne Creek, near Knights Cross Drive and Evans Road.

San Antonio Police Department Chief William McManus reported that a 43-year-old man was found dead at the scene from a gunshot wound, while his 23-year-old daughter was critically injured and transported to a nearby hospital. A 50-year-old woman, the deceased man’s wife and mother of the young woman, was unharmed and has been cooperating with investigators.

While Chief McManus refrained from speculating on the events that led to the shooting, he reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat. “We don’t know exactly what went down or how it went down,” McManus stated. Only one weapon was found at the scene, he added.

McManus also noted that police have responded to approximately four previous calls at the residence over the past few years, primarily related to mental health and disturbance issues.

Further details regarding the incident remain unavailable as the investigation continues. Authorities are treating this information as preliminary and subject to change as new details emerge.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
