Melbourne, Fla. – Tragedy struck in Melbourne on Friday as a child lost their life in an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) accident. According to the Melbourne Police Department, the fatal crash occurred when the ATV was traveling north on Lakehill Road, and the driver was unable to successfully navigate a turn. This led to the vehicle rolling onto its side, pinning one of the occupants beneath it.
Emergency responders quickly transported the child to a nearby hospital, but sadly, the victim was later pronounced dead. The Melbourne Police have confirmed that the victim was a juvenile, though no further details regarding the child’s identity have been released.
Authorities reported that neither alcohol nor drugs are believed to have been factors in the accident. The Melbourne Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
